Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City all sit on 17 points – five fewer than Chelsea – after this weekend's Barclays Premier League fixtures.
The Gunners beat City 3-0 at Eastlands on Sunday afternoon, while United won 2-1 at Stoke earlier in the day. All three clubs have now amassed 17 points after nine games, although Arsenal's superior goal difference (+11) lifts them ahead of United (+8) and City (+4). Table-toppers Chelsea beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at home on Saturday.
Manchester City, who began Sunday in outright second, had Dedryck Boyata sent off at Eastlands after only five minutes. The Gunners then took just 16 minutes to captialise, Samir Nasri combining well with Andrey Arshavin before slotting past Joe Hart. Hart saved a Cesc Fabregas penalty just before the break to keep the score at 1-0 but second-half goals from Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner secured the points.
